September Reading Wrap Up

A very romance-forward month with one unfortunate DNF

I feel a bit like a broken record saying that September was SO busy, but it was! I'm frankly unsure of how I managed to finish twelve books! Romance was my top genre, which tracks, since I love reading romance when my brain needs a break.

Looking for book recommendations? My favorite romance reads were Mine Again by Andrea Thome and Not on the Same Page by Allie Samberts! Twig's Traveling Tomes by Gryffin Murphy was my favorite fantasy and The Fractured Life of Lucy Hughes by Annie M. Morgan is a contemporary fiction novel that stole my heart.

Actually, Nevermind by Taylor Tomlinson was a highly relatable memoir that I devoured in a single day. I also branched out into horror with Jeneva Rose's new collection of short stories, Sometimes I Scare Myself. Let me tell you, if you ever have the opportunity to see her on tour - DO IT! She has incredible stage presence and amazing audience engagement!

Clearly, I was spoiled in September!

I did DNF one title, which I felt really bad about, but I just was not enjoying it. I'm someone that struggles with saying "I don't like 'XYZ" because I can always think of an exception - hence why I'm giving the horror genre another chance. None of the trigger warnings in this particular book were ones that typically bother me, but the way they came through in this book just didn't work for me. Oh well, on to the next one, right?

Tell me your favorite September read or memory!
